Singapore : Good Lesson for Me

This was my first time visiting Singapore. I visited it with my colleague and also my travel mate, Hana. By rode Air Asia, we finally arrived at Changi Airport. Air Asia, has good service and on-time departure. We arrived there in Thursday morning.

Changi Airport is big and has modern facilities. For me, the highlight of this airport is the drink water tap. In Indonesia, it isn't common yet to use this tap. Fortunately, in Singapore you can find this tap. The price of mineral water in Singapore is so expensive (around Rp 15.000/bottle). Imagine this tap isn't available, as a traveler I have to spend much money for drink water. In Indonesia, it's tolerable if there is no drink water tap. You can buy mineral water at cheap price (around Rp 5.000/bottle). But, I hope Indonesia will have this tap as common facilities. It's better if the government cooperate with mineral water industry.

I was waiting for the bus to MRT station. When the bus came, I immediately entered to the bus. I left my phone in the waiting room. Alhamdulillah, there was a girl who gave me my phone back. Alhamdulillah, thanks a lot to her!

The story in MRT

Indonesia hasn't MRT. This was my first time rode MRT. As foreigner like me, I had to remember the route of MRT. That's why, at the first time I arrived in Changi Airport I took MRT map. MRT route has more complicated route than commuter line in Indonesia. I was confused at the first time. MRT map is really helpful.

I rode MRT from Changi Airport to Clarke Quay Station. But, on the way, we went back to Changi Airport again. We finally realized, we had to transit at Tanah Merah Station to continue our journey. When arrived at Tanah Merah station, we didn't transit. That's why we went back at Changi. LOL 

City Backpackers : Our First Hostel

At the first day, we stayed at City Backpackers hostel before we moved to another hostel to met our friends. This hostel is located in Clarke Quay area. It is strategic spot. Near the station and Clarke Quay Central. It's clean and homey. But, one of the cleaning service is little bit unfriendly. We were shocked at the first time met her.

Nasi Padang in Singapore

We were really hungry. We were looking for the lunch at Clarke Quay Central. We finally bought Padang Rice (Nasi Padang) at Revendouz Restaurant. Why nasi Padang? I can buy it in Indonesia. We choosed it because we didn't find halal food yet. Meanwhile we were too hungry and weak to find another halal restaurant. I ordered white rice and chicken rendang. We got shocked when paid the bill. Rp 160.000 for chicken rendang + rice, include mineral water. Too expensive. Compare it to Nasi Padang, you can eat at affordable price. What about the taste? I prefer to eat nasi padang in Indonesia. The taste is stronger in Indonesia. hehe.

Universal Studio : Dufan in Singapore

After had "royal" lunch, we went to Universal Studio. We rode MRT from Clarke Quay to Harbour Front and continued with Sentosa Express. Tadaaaaa! We arrived at USS around 3 pm. Hahaha. We had to enjoy this park in limited time.

Because of limited time, we just play the highlight attractions. We got the information from USS brochure in the welcoming gate. The first attraction was "Shrek 4-D adventures". In this attraction, we could enjoy the journey of the Shrek when he tried to rescue Viona. We sat at the moving chair and felt the real effect of Shrek journey. The second attraction was "Madagascar : A Crate Adventure". It was like Istana Boneka in Dufan Indonesia.

The third attraction was "Puss in Boots Roller Coaster". In this attraction, I saw a group of (sorry) blind people. I was so grateful with my condition. Alhamdulillah. They have disabilities, but they still happy. I also proud of their friends. They were normal, but they still happily helped their friends with disabilities. What a beautiful harmony.

The next attraction was "Jurrasic Park". In Indonesia, it's similar to "Arung Jeram" at Dufan. We continued to the next attraction. For me, this was the best attraction in USS, "Revenge of the Mummy". It was little scary. Actually, it is roller coaster in the dark. Hahaha. The situation was like in the pyramid, with ancient egypt backsound. It was really great! The last but not least, "Battlestar Galactica (cylon - gray track)". In Indonesia, it's like roller coaster in Dufan. But, in USS it was dizzier.

After the Battlestar Galactica, we had to went out from this theme park because it was time to close it. Before we played at Battlestar Galactica, we put our bag at locker in the Revenge of The Mummy attraction area. We want to took it back but couldn't. Securities said that all of the goods in locker had been moved to information room. So, we had to take our bag there. We waited so long at information room until the bag came. We had to suffer because of hungry while waiting for our bag. Wkwkwkwk.

Overall, the first day I visited Singapore was a great adventure. Many things happened and to be good lessons for me. Alhamdulillah....
