Yogyakarta has many great relics. Especially the relics from Mataram Kingdom. This time, me and my friends explored it more. We visited Abang Temple and Ijo Temple. The first spot was Abang Temple. You can read my story about Abang Temple in this post Teletubbies Hill in Sleman. Now, I will tell my story when I visited Ijo Temple.

Ijo Temple is located at Sambirejo, Prambanan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. It is a Hindu temple. Well-known as the highest temple in Jogja. You can see the stunning scenes of the sky and the residential from the top. To arrived there, we rode motorcycles. I recommend you to ride motorcycle than car if you want to visit Ijo temple, because of the narrow and uphill road. In addition, you’ll easy to find the parking lot.

On the way to Ijo temple, you will find another tourist spot. Actually, that is breccias cliff. But, because the cliff has a beautiful view, many people come and take pictures here, then upload it in their social media. Even, people who stayed around this place built the venue for performance. I forget what kind of the performance although the guide had told me. There is no entry fee. Just paid Rp 2.000 for parking my motorcycle. Afterward, we continued our journey to Ijo temple.

When I arrived at Ijo temple, it disappointed me. There was a shooting and we couldn’t enter to the temple. So, the visitors just could sit at the edge side while waiting for the sunset. Fortunately, the sunset was pretty good. I like the colour of the sky. The great masterpiece made by God. O,iya. There was no entry fee, just paid the parking lot (Rp2.000 each motorcycle).

Ijo temple (Indonesian called it Candi Ijo) is a good spot to enjoy the sunset with affordable budget. Don’t litter please if you go there. Keep the environment clean and nice.
